Remis au Comic Con de San Diego, les Eisner Awards ont couronné K.O. à Tel Aviv de l’Israélien Asaf Hanuka.

Publiée en France par Steinkis et par Boom! Studio/Archaia aux États-Unis sous le titre The Realist, la série K.O. à Tel Aviv a décroché le Eisner Award de la meilleure oeuvre étrangère (hors Asie). Elle devance Alpha de Jens Harder, L’Éternaute de Héctor Germán Oesterheld et Francisco Solano Lòpez, Un regard par-dessus l’épaule de Pierre Paquet et Tony Sandoval, et La Marche du crabe d’Arthur de Pins. Parmi les autres prix notables : meilleur scénariste pour Jason Aaron (Southern Bastards…), meilleur roman graphique pour Ruines de Peter Kuper, meilleur dessinateur-coloriste pour Dustin Nguyen (Descender), meilleur auteur complet pour Bill Griffith et son Invisible Ink: My Mother’s Secret Love Affair with a Famous Cartoonist, qui arrive chez Delcourt en septembre sous le titre Secret de famille. À noter que Riad Sattouf et son Arabe du futur n’ont pas décroché le prix de la meilleure BD inspirée de faits réels, devancés par le tome 2 de March, traduit chez nous par Rue de Sèvres.
